Darin auch ein Abschnitt: 'Verbale versus klassifikatorische Sacherschließung' u.a. mit folgendem Text: "Die speziellen Probleme und Unzulänglichkeiten der Schlagwortnormdatei für den Altbestand demonstrierte Arnold anhand des scheinbar simplen Begriffs 'Polizei', dessen Inhalt im 17. oder 19. Jhd. erhebliche Unterschiede aufweist. Die Darstellung, wie man im eigenen Haus versucht, die Altbestände systematisch aufzuarbeiten, ließ jedoch schnell auch Starrheit erkennen, die eine klassifikatorische Erschließung - in Wolfenbüttel wird mit der Klassifikation nach dem System Hartwig gearbeit - mit sich bringt. Genau diesen Punkt betonte Roswitha Poll bei ihrem Plädoyer für eine verbale Sacherschließung. Die Qualität eines Instrumentes wie der Schlagwortnormdatei würde zwangsläufig verbessert, wenn zunehmens ältere Bestände erschlossen würden. Die historischen Differenzierungen könnten durchaus mit entsprechenden Begriffen und Verweisungen abgebildet werden"
