    Abstract
    Am 1. Juli 1998 beginnt Die Deutsche Bibliothek im Vorgriff auf die Novellierung des neuen Gesetzes mit der Sammlung von Netzpublikationen. In den ersten Monaten werden vor allem Dissertationen und Habilitationen sowie die Veröffentlichungen einiger freiwilliger Verlage gesammelt. Die Ablieferung der Publikationen muß in einem der von Der Deutschen Bibliothek bevorzugten Dateiformate erfolgen. Die Formalerschließung erfolgt auf der Grundlage von RAK-NBM im PICA-ILTIS-Format; die inhaltliche Erschließung auf der Grundlage der RSWK, 3. Aufl.

    Da in den nächsten Monaten zahlreiche Institutionen und Gremien der Europäischen Union über den Richtlinienvorschlag zur Harmonisierung des Urheberrechts und der verwandten Schutzrechte in der Informationsgesellschaft beraten werden, hat eine BDB/DBI-Arbeitsgruppe das folgende Statement formuliert und - ergänzt um weitere Unterlagen - im Juli 1998 an deutsche Mitglieder des Europa-Parlaments versandt, um die Position der deutschen Bibliotheken deutlich zu machen.     Abstract
    Bevor EDV in Bibliotheken und Informationseinrichtungen eingeführt und eingesetzt werden kann, ist eine Reihe von Fragen zu klären - z.B.: welches auf dem Markt befindliche EDV-System erfüllt die Anforderungen, die 'vor Ort' and dieses System gestellt werden und ist auch noch in einigen Jahren zukunftssicher? Lassen sich auch spezielle Anforderungen mit der zum Einsatz kommenden Software lösen? Mit dieser Zusammenstellung soll Bibliotheken und Informationseinrichtungen, die ablösen wollen, EDV einführen oder ein vorhandenes System, ein Überblick über bekannte auf dem Markt befindliche bibliothekarische Anwendungssoftware ermöglicht werden. In dieser Übersicht sind deshalb neben klassischen integrierten Bibliothekssystemen auch solche EDV-Systeme verzeichnet, die angrenzende Aufgabenfelder bzw. Einzelfunktionen realisieren. Sie kann erste Informationen zu einem Produkt geben und so die Vorentscheidung für ein oder mehrere Produkt unterstützen

    Abstract
    In dem Abschlußbericht werden die Ergebnisse eines vom Ministerium für Stadtentwicklung, Kultur und Sport des Landes Nordrhein-Westfalen finanzierten Projekts der Stadtbücherein Düsseldorf vorgestellt, das in enger Zusammenarbeit mit dem HBZ des Landes NW zwischen Juli 1994 und Dezember 1997 durchgeführt wurde. Das Proejkt hatte den Auftrag, die Rahmenbedingungen für einen gemeinsamen Verbund von Öffentlichen und wissenschaftlichen Bibliotheken in NW auf der Basis des nordrhein-westfälischen Bibliotheksverbundes insbesondere unter den Aspekten Anforderungen Öffentlicher Bibliotheken an eine Verbundteilnahme, praktische Erprobung der Verbundteilnahme, Aufwand und Nutzen einer Verbundteilnahme und Finanzierungsoptionen einer Verbundteilnahme zu ermitteln

    Abstract
    Lecture given at the AIBM conference, Karlsruhe, Sep 95. The thesaurus appeared 1st in 1982, produced according to DIN standard 1463. This standard is largely adhered to, with 2 deviations: the controlled vocabulary is rather universal, covering more than 1 musical field, and descriptors are used as systematic collection points, with non-decriptors as subordinate headings. The 1994 edition has widened its contents range. There are still problems with ambiguity of headings and titles
