Im zweiten Teil erfährt der Leser alles über die lineare Untersuchung von XML-Dateien und die Programmierung mit SAX. Es folgt der holistische Ansatz mit DOM und dessen Java-optimierter, eleganterer Alternative JDOM. XSL, die Anzeige von XML-Daten im Web und Java API for XML-Binding (JAXB) mit der man aus XML-Dokumenten maßgeschneiderte Java-Klassen dateien erstellen kann. Teil drei zeigt Spezialwerkzeuge für Webservices Soap, UDDI, WSDL, Java API for XML Messaging (JAXM) und die Arbeit mit XML-Registraren. Zu den Techniken erfährt der Leser sinnvolle Einsatzszenarien.
